Substantive/Structural Editing

$2.00 per page/$1.50 per page after 300 pages

This is an overall edit of the manuscript for clarity, content, structure and overall tone. It may involve restructuring or rewriting. I will look at:

* Does it all fit together into a coherent whole?

* Is the order of presentation logical (from the target audience’s point of view)?

* Is all the necessary information included, and unnecessary information deleted?

* Clear, logical development of ideas

* Conciseness

* Use of jargon

I provide a summary report about the content, structure and tone of the manuscript, plus suggested changes to improve the work.

The substantive edit is perfect for first drafts and works-in-progress. I can provide validation of what works within the manuscript and guidance as to the areas for improvement within the work. The report provided will help to guide revisions and polish the manuscript. This review also includes a one hour phone review to discuss my recommendations.
